115th anniversary of the Republic of China (Taiwan): Franco-Taiwanese networking reception

Culture brings us together, friendship unites us.

The French Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce is delighted to invite you on Sunday 25 October 2026, from 12:00 to 16:00, to the restaurant Les Noces de Jeannette in Paris, to celebrate together the 115th anniversary of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

In a warm atmosphere, this autumn afternoon will blend culture, food, music and fashion in a spirit of Franco-Taiwanese friendship. Specialities from Tainan, live music, a showcase of designer gowns and friendly activities will reveal the many facets of Taiwan, its creativity and its hospitality.

Flavours of Tainan, a taste of Taiwan's land

Discover Tainan's farm produce and local specialities: dried pineapple, mango and guava bursting with fruity flavour, crunchy tea-and-bean snacks, golden buckwheat tea and a delicate golden buckwheat milk drink. A tasting that pays tribute to Tainan's generous land and warm hospitality.

Music for an elegant afternoon

Taiwanese violinist 郭喬洋, trained in France, and young Taiwanese flautist 劉晏慈, based in France, will perform for our guests. The expressive voice of the violin and the clarity of the flute will accompany this moment of sharing and conviviality.

Fashion: our guest of honour, Prissy Gomes

We are honoured to welcome Ms Prissy Gomes, Miss Universe Cabo Verde 2025, who will walk in a creation by Taiwanese designer Zoé Wan-Hui du PUY-MONTBRUN (邱婉惠), where Taiwanese craftsmanship meets international elegance.

The first woman to represent Cape Verde at Miss Universe, Prissy Gomes is a model, presenter and fashion influencer followed by around one million people on Instagram. Through fashion and culture she shines a light on her country, and she will bring a wonderful openness to the world to our gathering.

An archipelago off the coast of West Africa, Cape Verde is known for its democratic vitality and resilience. In 2026 its national football team played in the World Cup for the first time, showing remarkable determination against Argentina; goalkeeper Vozinha's spectacular saves, not least against Lionel Messi, showed the world the strength of character of this island nation. Taiwan and Cape Verde share the same attachment to democracy and freedom: this gathering will be a chance to get to know each other better, bring our cultures closer and celebrate the energy and generosity of our islands.

Smartphone quiz: discover Taiwan while having fun

A bilingual French–Mandarin quiz on smartphones will invite guests to test their knowledge of the national day, Taiwanese culture and the treasures of Tainan, in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

The winners will receive a good-luck amulet brought from Tainan's Tiantan Temple (臺灣首廟天壇), dedicated to the Jade Emperor, and blessed at the temple. A symbol of peace and protection, it carries Taiwan's warm wishes and will be a precious keepsake of the day.
