About
The late Françoise ZYLBERBERG, a former professor at National Taiwan University, founded Le Pigeonnier in 1999. This one-of-a-kind French bookshop in Taipei is open to the public every day. It offers more than 16,000 French titles across many fields: literature, art, social sciences, leisure, children's books and comics, as well as French-learning materials for all ages.
Thanks to its close ties with many French publishers, Le Pigeonnier handles individual orders for books that are not in stock. Books can be searched for and ordered directly on the bookshop's website, or ordered by e-mail, by phone or in person.
Le Pigeonnier is also a major presence at the Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE), where its partnerships with the Bureau international de l'édition française (BIEF) and the Bureau Français de Taipei lead to book sales, talks and signing sessions with guest authors.
Fashion designer Sophie HONG has taken over the legacy of the late Françoise ZYLBERBERG and continues her mission of building a cultural bridge between France and Taiwan. She is devoted to the bookshop, promoting education and an appreciation of beauty among the public. In 2012 she was made a Knight of the French National Order of Merit for her work promoting cultural exchange between France and Taiwan.
Books remain one of the finest gifts one can give. Le Pigeonnier will help you choose the perfect book for a friend, a loved one or yourself. Come and visit: a relaxed atmosphere among literature, music and much more. See you soon!
