Thank you all for your patience! Originally planned for early summer, Taiwan Day had to be postponed because of an exceptional heatwave. It returns in milder autumn weather on Sunday 18 October 2026, in the gardens of Levallois-Perret town hall.

For this new edition, the square becomes a true Taiwanese cultural village bringing together performances, traditions, languages, food, crafts and lifestyle: a whole day to travel to Taiwan… without leaving the Paris region!

The French Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce is taking part in organising this edition, together with its members, to share the richness of Taiwanese culture, cuisine and know-how with the public.

Taste Taiwan with FTCC entrepreneurs

Several members of the chamber will run food stands, including Le goût de Taïwan (台灣味) and the restaurant Çaroule (強強滾), offering a selection of Taiwanese specialities to discover Taiwan through its flavours, popular recipes and food culture.

Spotlight on Tainan

With the City of Tainan, the chamber will also present a selection of agricultural products and local specialities: a special opportunity to discover the quality of Tainan's produce, its land, its farming and its food heritage.

Performances and traditional arts

  • Traditional Taiwanese glove puppetry with Jean-Luc Penso, disciple of the great master Li Tien-lu.
  • Contemporary erhu by Dr Hung Chung-hui.
  • Kung fu demonstration by a gold-medal coach.
  • Roaming performances around Ba-Jia-Jiang traditions, Taiwanese and Hakka opera, the yueqin moon lute, traditional songs and ancient Paiwan melodies: visitors will meet the artists as they stroll through the village.

Workshops and languages

Introductions to the Paiwan, Tao, Atayal, Taiwanese and Hakka languages will reveal the island's cultural diversity, along with workshops on writing Mandarin in traditional characters, a tea ceremony with Tzu Chi and traditional Taiwanese games, for children and adults alike.

Taiwanese food village

Lu wei, cold noodles, gua bao, Taiwanese sausages, sticky rice, vegetarian stinky tofu, freshly made wheel cakes, bubble tea, sour plum drink… and of course Taiwan beer! A gourmet stroll through Taiwan's night markets and back streets.

Designers, crafts and lifestyle

Books, independent comics, ceramics, glass beads, prints, crystal creations, weaving and handmade objects reveal another side of Taiwan: creative, contemporary and deeply attached to its craftsmanship.

Culture, food, shows, encounters and discoveries: for one day, Taiwan comes to Levallois-Perret.

With the French Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, the FTCCJC, the Association Formose en France, the Association des Taïwanaises en France and the City of Levallois.
